Shut Up

Shut up.
I don't want to hear your words today -
Your babbling explanations, how you say
It's not your fault and not your blame.
Excuses ought to fill your soul with shame,
But the lies do not begin to touch your need
To preserve yourself out of masculine greed.

Shut up.
You look far too good in those old jeans.
I don't want to replay those old scenes
Of fights and lies told in anger great.
Such lies lead only to bitterness and hate,
And you look too hot to fight that fight.
So let's let it slide for just one more night.

Shut up.
I'm so very angry with you, and you know it.
Don't say a word, or else you might blow it.
We both know the truth, there's no need to hide.
You just feel the need to salvage your pride.
I don't want to hear it; I don't want to be
Angry with you, so just shut up and kiss me.
