Out Of The Pit

 

Glittering metal and sparkling gems,
Riches of beauty and wonders of might,
Wealth and money piled in heaps,
Gold and silver reflecting the light.

 

Shreds and scars and broken souls,
Cuts that never heal on the heart,
Ruined lives and the wasted youth,
Vinegar poured and wounds smart.

 

Climb for money and lust for power,
Greed the all-consuming flame,
Never worry about lives destroyed,
Seek the goal of treasure and fame.

 

Riches gone and wealth away,
Vapors rise and demon grins,
Greed of man an endless pain,
Eternally paying for his sins.
