Lesson Not Learned

 

A mistake I made a thousand times
Cannot be captured in my rhymes,
But somehow I know that you can tell
That I trapped myself in my own hell.

 

A thousand times I've done this sin,
Yet each time I'm done I start back again.
You think I'd learn to just be done -
To turn my back on my past and run.

 

Another chance to break this curse
That cannot be held within this verse
Only shows that my strength cannot beat
This grasping sin, so admit my defeat.
