Hole
There’s a hole in the world today, A space no memory can ever fill. There’s no light,
no sunbeam ray; Just an emptiness, a bitter pill. There’s a vacant seat in class Where a person should now
be. The tear-filled eyes of the student mass Show a heart-hole nobody can see. There’s a space made in the
night When a soul breaks free of this earth; A time when shadows meet the light, A hole unfilled by time or birth. There’s
a song, though hard to sing, As home flies a free-set soul. There is a time for everything – A reason for every
hole.
