Free Bird

A wild bird, I take flight -
No chains on these wings tonight.
During the dark I may be bound
In a cage and on the ground,
But come dawn I am free
Of chain and cage to just be
A wild bird, soaring high.
I glide through unshackled sky,
Winging past moon still pale.
Following the sun, onward I sail.
Reborn a free bird to fly away
No cage for me - free bird today!
