Divorce

The ragged shreds of the marriage beds,
Husbands and wives with ruined lives.
Girls and boys with their broken toys,
The dreams shattered and hopes tattered.
Custody wars and slammed doors,
Lawyer's cases and children's blank faces.
The judge's voice making their choice,
Leave the spouse and buy a new house.
Not enough cash and too much trash,
Pay child support or go back to court.
A number on a list and an angry fist,
Another family torn apart by a broken heart.
