Choices

A bitter battle between the dark and the light
Wages within my own soul, a spiritual fight.
Forces pull at my being, wanting to claim me,
Try to shape my future, carving my destiny.

A choice I must someday make, for evil or good
Marked by all my past mistakes, where and when I stood.
Lessons learned by trial and error may aid me here -
Pivotal points in life, revolving in my sphere.

Other spheres face other fights, my song joins with theirs;
Wing to a central point, fly like a thousand prayers.
Their desperate echo strikes the listener's ears
And falls back to earth like an angel's broken tears.

Answers fall down because of prayers that were spoke
By those searching for them hidden in the dark smoke.
My decision now made, push the darkness away
And greet the blessed light, the dawn of a new day.
