Why

My friend once asked me, "Why?"
I thought, "Because I must."
He only heard my sigh -
Words demand too much trust.
In anguish there dwells hope -
In silence only pain.
Tears teach one to cope;
But doubt, a reddened stain.
A flower blooms in spring,
A leaf turns in the fall,
A prince becomes a king,
But sorrow heeds no call.
Questions their answers seek,
And truth will be revealed.
When time reaches its peak
No lie can be concealed.
So please don't ask me why -
Just wait, and you shall know.
'Til then, know that a lie
Is all I'll ever show.
